Everyday Fashion With MiMi: La Lesso Maridadi Dress in Blue

Straight off the runways from Capetown Fashion Week and the fashionable streets of London and New York - Rock the stunning "ethnik chik" La Lesso dresses to your next soiree.

Designers Olivia Kennaway and Alice Heusser started their La Lesso Collection in 2004 while attending design school in Cape Town, South Africa. Their vision comes from Olivia's home country of Kenya - drawing from the capitivatingly beautiful "khanga" or "lesso" of the intrinsic patterns and vibrant colors.

Olivia and Alice continuously strive to transform the beautiful pieces of East African Heritage into stylish, fun and timelessly-trendy designs. All the La Lesso stunners are manufactured in Kenya at La Lesso's new SOKO plant.

SOKO is a fabulous project that provides sustainable and creative long-term solutions to Kenya's economic crisis by promoting community-driven, ethical and evironmentally aware fashion trade.

70% of all La Lesso profits are used to support community projects targeting local beneificiaries such as the Ukunda Children's Orphanage.

I enjoyed rocking this fab dress at a recent fashion show!!!  The great thing about this strapless, figure-hugging dress is that it accentuates one's current curves and gives the illusion of feminine curves where there is none.  Rock with bold statement accessories or just some simple studs.

I love colorful, bold jewelry so I accesorized the dress to maximize its potential.  The dress looks fab on its own and in this case because of its versatitility, when it comes to accessories, both "less is more" or "go big or go home" work just fine.
